Massage balls

In order to achieve first-class results in your foam rolling, first define the purpose of the exercises. Small massage balls mainly exert selective pressure. This helps in the treatment of plantar fasciitis or trigger points in the shoulder area. Large lacrosse balls stimulate a wider radius. The large massage balls (12cm or larger) are ideal for the treatment of chest and buttock muscles. You often have back problems and have already tried everything? Your pain and tension are located between the shoulder blades or close to the spine? Then the Faszien Double Ball is the ideal solution for you. The multifunctional massage ball made of cork is characterized by its precise handling, the precise pressure distribution and, last but not least, an absolutely sustainable material. This makes the Faszienball Duo the ideal complement to our high-quality foam roller.

You have problems with painful trigger points and stubborn tenseness, which simply cannot be solved with a foam roller? Would you like to work on your fasciae even more precisely and penetrate further into the depths? Then lacrosse balls are exactly the right thing for you. Thanks to different sizes, materials and degrees of hardness, massage balls can be used flexibly and are therefore the ideal supplement for your training.

what is a therapy massage ball?

Therapy massage balls are just as ingenious as simple training devices. They are relatively hard balls with a diameter of approx. 7 to approx. 16 centimetres. Just like the foam roller, the massage ball is also used to work on trigger points and thus release adhesions, pain and tension in muscle and fascia tissue. The classic lacrosse massage ball usually consists of EEP (expandable polypropylene), a plastic based on polypropylene.
Thanks to the special properties of the plastic, lacrosse balls can easily be produced in different degrees of hardness, so that you can also find the product that suits you best. At SAPURA you also get high-quality therapy balls made from sustainably cultivated cork. Our variant made of cork scores with a pleasant elasticity, without neglecting the necessary hardness for the activation of the trigger points.

Numerous advantages when training with the muscke massage ball

A muscle massage ball basically has the same function as a good foam roller. However, fascia balls have a decisive advantage over fascia rolls. While a foam roller exerts flat pressure, you can concentrate the pressure with a therapy ball on very small tissue areas.

A lacrosse ball is therefore the ideal solution for the post-processing of particularly stubborn trigger points. Massage balls are also perfect for areas that are difficult or impossible to reach with your foam roller. Thus, for example, you can treat painful areas and tensions between the shoulder blades, at the transition between chest and shoulder as well as in the area of the fine muscle strands of the neck and tibia even more precisely.
The big advantage: Since the pressure on a lacorsse ball is concentrated on a very small spot, you can catch even the smallest glue joints in hard-to-reach places with centimetre precision. And you can't believe exactly how often these small, stubborn glues cause problems in the area of the entire muscular system.

The right therapy ball for the right application

It is well known that there is a dispute about taste, but not about functionality. This also applies if you decide on a massage ball. In order to use the lacrosse ball as efficiently as possible and to enjoy fascia training for a long time, the massage balls should suit you. When you plan to buy one, the decisive factors are hardness and size. You usually get them with a diameter of about 7 cm to 16 cm. The simple rule of thumb here is: the smaller the ball, the smaller the pressure point. With the smaller models such as our cork ball you can exert great pressure on a very small spot and precisely work on pain points with it.
A small therapy ball is also excellently suited for processing very tight fasciae such as the plantar fascia under the sole of the foot. A larger model like our STRUCTURE model distributes the pressure to a slightly larger pressure point. However, lacrosse massage balls with a diameter of 12 or 14 centimetres are often too large for the punctual processing of filigree trigger points in the shoulder and neck area. So if you want to successfully go on a trigger point hunt and eliminate even the smallest pain point, the combination of a high-quality foam roller and a small and a large massage ball is ideal. The second important factor to consider when buying a good product is hardness. The harder a ball is, the greater the punctual pressure on the tissue. This has the advantage that the pressure penetrates far into the fabric and you can reliably loosen even the deepest bonds in the fabric. However, training with a very hard and small massage tool can be a little uncomfortable for beginners. Here a bit softer therapy balls are recommended. These give way a little bit and exert a flatter pressure on the tissue. If a softer one also has a structured surface like our STRUCTURE BALL, the integrated massage function makes it suitable for stimulating circulation. In addition, a pimpled structure allows the pressure to penetrate deeper into the tissue despite the soft material than with a smooth lacrosse ball made of soft material.

The Double Ball - Perfect for Experts

Around the spine there are most adhesions and the most stubborn trigger points. Unfortunately, it is difficult to reach them with a continuous foam roller and work them with the perfect pressure. The solution is our SAPURA double massage ball. This is two fascia balls connected by a middle bar. Thanks to the central recess, the peanut ball offers space for the spinous processes of the vertebral bodies, so that the pressure lands exclusively on the musculature. Due to the small surface of the two therapy balls, you can design the massage extremely precisely, efficiently and above all without unnecessary pressure on the vertebral bodies. In addition, the SAPURA cork duo ball is also ideal for other body areas such as the neck, lower legs and shoulders.
